The Passing of Dr. Daniel Coleman

We are all greatly saddened by the recent passing of Dr. Daniel Coleman, a much-loved member of our Catholic Charities of Santa Clara family. Daniel was a respected advocate for youth in our community and an inspiration to his colleagues and those served through the Washington United Youth Center.

We greatly appreciate all the community support and wonderful tributes we have received like this one from Omar Torres, Councilmember of San Jose's District 3:

"My heartfelt condolences go out to the Washington youth and our friends at Catholic Charities. This past weekend, we received the devastating news of the sudden passing of Dr. Daniel Coleman, a dedicated Counselor at the Washington United Youth Center for many years. I consider myself incredibly privileged to have had the opportunity to meet and work with him, even if it was for a short time. My deepest sympathies go to his family, who are coping with this sudden loss. Dr. Coleman was truly remarkable, an inspiring community leader who left an indelible impact not only on the Washington Youth Center and the Washington-Guadalupe neighborhood but throughout our beloved San José. Although we will keenly feel his absence, his legacy will continue to inspire, drive, and motivate countless others. Rest in peace, my dear friend, Dr. Daniel Coleman. You will be greatly missed. "
