GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: Provides clinical individual and group supervision and oversight of staff and student/intern therapists and case managers providing SES and Pro GRIP services. Additional duties include developing relationships with community partners to assist youth and their family members to access community supports for resources, parenting and mental health needs. The program supervisor will focus on quality assurance and compliance, the meeting of productivity, contract deliverables, providing training, development, and reflective supervision. The supervisor will provide some direct service to clients and their families, utilizing Evidence-Based Practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides individual Reflective Supervision to all therapists and case managers
Facilitates weekly Reflective Consultation group supervision
Provides clinical consultation to all SES staff, ensuring that diagnoses, treatment plans and case notes are accurate an in accordance with MHD documentation requirements
Coordinates services with other professionals and community organizations involved with the clients, e.g. teachers, probation officers, vocational counselors, etc.
Acts as an agency liaison with the county- systems of care
Coordinates community engagement efforts as needed to ensure community needs are being met
Ensures that program productivity is achieved, and contract dollars are maximized
Records services, maintains client files, and completes monthly activity reports as assigned.
SUMMARY OF OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Attends training sessions conducted by the Departments of Mental Health and Social Services Agency
Participates in BH Division meetings, CC Leadership Meetings and other work groups
Other responsibilities as assigned to support specific department/business needs
Provides clinical, training and operational supervision of program staff.
Assumes leadership for specific program aspects of the special federal program grant that funds the treatment of veteran clients.
Completes performance appraisals for SES and Pro GRIP staff.
Required education and experience:
Masters degree in social work or marriage and family therapy or equivalent
Licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) which qualifies an individual for this position as Therapist IV.
Minimum of five years experience in supporting the mental health needs of youth and families- Recommended to have some experience with probation and gang youth
Minimum of two years experience in a supervisory role
Automobile and valid CA drivers license
Auto liability coverage according to the agency requirements
Knowledge, skills & abilities
Excellent cross-cultural, inter-generational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of and experience with Childhood Mental Health and family-focused treatment models and best practices
Bi-lingual skills in Spanish recommended
Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team.
Computer skills using Windows
Culturally competent counseling skills
Understanding of complex client, community and agency issues and ability to take appropriate action
Availability to work evening and Saturday hours, as needed
HOURS: Full time, hours scheduled on the basis of client availability and agency operation including Saturdays and evening
