Job Description:
GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: Teach VESL classes for immigrants and coordinate ESL program activities.

• Evaluate each student’s English skills using CASAS assessment test
• Prepare appropriate teaching materials to all students’ levels
• Prepare daily lesson plan
• Coordinate students’ placement in Adult Education programs/Community Colleges
• Regularly evaluate students’ progress and refer to other services as applicable
• Attend all funder’s meetings and participate on all related meetings and trainings
• Attend ALLIES and other collaboration initiatives to strengthen program and broaden service area
• Perform all the projected required reports
• Volunteer recruitment and training
• Program Evaluation
• Maintain positive relationship with partners and host sites
• Other duties as assigned

• BA in Languages or valid California ESL Credential
• At least 2 yrs experience teaching adult English learners
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Excellent cross cultural skills
• Ability to coordinate related language classes with community needs
• Well-organized, flexible team player

HOURS: Part-time, depending on the needs of the program.
