Catholic Charities is working closely with Santa Clara County’s First 5 and KidsConnection Network (KCN) to deliver First 5 Services. Employing evidence-based practices, First 5 services are targeting high-risk children and their families with the goal of preventing, reducing, and eliminating mental health issues that may be inhibiting their and their family’s wellness. The Therapist supports First 5 by engaging families, in individual child and family therapy to reduce or eliminate escalated behavioral challenges. Extensive wonderful training will be provided.

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: The case manager provides high level integrated case management and mental health treatment for older adults experiencing mental health crisis. The case manager provides individualized, competent, and ethical social services and rehabilitation to the clients participating in the program. THE POSITION: We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) developmental specialist with experience, training or background in occupational therapy (OT), speech and language (SLP), child development or early intervention to join our early childhood mental health team. This position requires an intermediate to advanced knowledge of early childhood development (birth to age 5) and an ability to provide comprehensive assessment, consultation and interventions across all developmental domains including physical, motor, cognitive, speech/language/communication, social, emotional, sensory and regulation. Knowledge of disorders related to neurodevelopment (autism), sensory integration/processing and communication is required. This role also requires a relational view of development and experience in using a range of developmental assessment and screening tools. Program Description

Refugee Foster Care (a Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County program) supports refugee and immigrant children who have separated from their families because of war, persecution, and trafficking. We place these unaccompanied youth into loving homes all over the Bay Area and provide support and advocacy for the youth in many different areas of their lives. These areas include, but not limited to: school, mental and physical health, the legal system, acculturation, staying connected with their own culture, and independent living skills.

Translators and Interpreters play a crucial role in the resettlement process by bridging linguistic and cultural gaps between the youth, program staff, and vendors.
