GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: The Restorative Justice Program helps our community’s most vulnerable residents heal their mental health and access various social supports to stabilize their lives for recovery and successful reintegration into the community. The Program Supervisor is a lead for the program and provides clinical support to staff. She/he provides and assists with evidenced based therapy, collateral services, crisis intervention, substance use services, and case management. Assists clients to access medical, educational, social, prevocational, vocational, rehabilitative or other needed community services for eligible individuals. Works with interdisciplinary treatment team to assist the clients in their recovery and management of chronic mental illness, substance use, chronic health disorders and compliance with court requirements. POSITION SUMMARY:
Catholic Charities is working closely with the Franklin McKinley School District in San Jose to deliver Prevention & Early Intervention (PEI) Services in partnership with the Mental Health Department. Employing evidence-based practices, PEI services are targeting high-risk youth and their families with the goal of preventing, reducing, and eliminating mental health issues that may be inhibiting academic success and family wellness. The Behavior Specialist supports PEI by engaging families in services aimed at addressing behavioral issues through educational workshops and sessions, and behavior support planning service in the home and in the community, connecting students and families to resources that will reduce/eliminate nonproductive and violent behaviors. The Family Resource Center Supervisor position is funded under the Family Resource Center Initiative. The Family Resource Center (FRC) will provide a continuum of programs, services and activities from prevention to early intervention. The FRC Supervisor will plan, coordinate, organize, monitor, and provide leadership in the FRC in the provision of promotion, prevention and early intervention information, resources, and support to families with children under the age of 6 through a range of programs focused on school readiness, health, and early literacy. It will support, and mentor the work of Community Workers and Program Coordinators to ensure quality programs, services and activities are offered in the FRC. In addition, the FRC Supervisor will manage and coordinate a volunteer program (Associate Community Workers, Gen2Gen, and community volunteers) that will support the efforts & vision of the FRC.

Program Description

Refugee Foster Care (a Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County program) supports refugee and immigrant children who have separated from their families because of war, persecution, and trafficking. We place these unaccompanied youth into loving homes all over the Bay Area and provide support and advocacy for the youth in many different areas of their lives. These areas include, but not limited to: school, mental and physical health, the legal system, acculturation, staying connected with their own culture, and independent living skills.

Translators and Interpreters play a crucial role in the resettlement process by bridging linguistic and cultural gaps between the youth, program staff, and vendors.
